Behavior Plan

Smile Sticks:  We are always on the look out for examples of students modeling great 1st grade behavior.  If you get caught being a great role model you will be asked to get a "Smile Stick".  Each student has an individual pocket for smile sticks.  For every 20 smile sticks a student collects he/she gets to choose a reward.                                  

Each student begins the day on green.  If he/she needs a behavior reminder he/she will be asked to "pull a card".  For each pulled card the following consequences occur:

• Go Green - Great Choices/No Warnings
• Yellow - 1st Warning/Slow Down - Think about your choices
• Red - 2nd Warning/Stop and Think/5 minute break from recess
• Blue - 3rd Warning/Need More Time to Think/10 minute break from recess
• Black - Final Warning for the day/15 minute break from recess/Contact parents

If the entire class ends the day on green a "Class Go Green" is earned.  For every 10 "Class Go Greens" a Go Green Celebration will be held in our classroom!

Recess/Weather

Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.  The Guidelines are as follows:

It is always a good idea to dress your child in layers, as the
weather changes throughout the day.
